【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodprovidesguidelinesforacousticemission(AE)examinationsofseamlesspressurevessels(tubes)ofthetypeusedfordistributionorstorageofindustrialgases.1.2Thistestmethodrequirespressurizationtoalevelgreaterthannormaluse.Pressurizationmediummaybegasorliquid.1.3Thistestmethoddoesnotapplytovesselsincryogenicservice.1.4TheAEmeasurementsareusedtodetectandlocateemissionsources.Othernondestructivetest(NDT)methodsmustbeusedtoevaluatethesignificanceofAEsources.ProceduresforotherNDTtechniquesarebeyondthescopeofthistestmethod.SeeNote1.Note18212;Shearwave,anglebeamultrasonicinspectioniscommonlyusedtoestablishcircumferentialpositionanddimensionsofflawsthatproduceAE.1.5Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecificprecautionarystatementsaregiveninSection7.
