【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandarddescribesatestmethodthatcoversthedeterminationoffracturetoughnessofmonolithicceramicmaterialsatroomtemperaturebythesurfacecrackinflexure(SCF)method.ThisInternationalStandardisintendedforusewithmonolithicceramicsandwhisker-orparticulate-reinforcedceramicsthatareregardedasmacroscopicallyhomogeneous.Itdoesnotincludecontinuous-fibrereinforcedceramiccomposites.Thetestmethodisapplicabletomaterialswitheitherflatorrisingcrackgrowthresistancecurves.ThismethodissimilartoISO15732exceptthatprecracksaresmallerandaremadebyadifferentprocedure.ThemethodsshouldproducesimilaroridenticalresultsformaterialswithaflatR-curve.NOTEThistestmethodisusuallyapplicabletoceramicmaterialswithafracturetoughnesslessthan≈10MPam.ItmaybedifficulttoformprecrackswithaKnoopindenterformaterialswithgreaterfracturetoughnessorthosematerialswhicharesoft(lowhardness)suchassomezirconias,orforporousceramics.
