【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesthephysicalandmagneticcharacteristicsofa3,81mmwidemagnetictapecartridgetoenablephysicalinterchangeabilityofsuchcartridgesbetweendrives.Italsospecifiesthequalityoftherecordedsignals,therecordingmethodandtherecordedformat-calledDigitalDataStorage(DDS)-therebyallowingdatainterchangebetweendrivesbymeansofsuchmagnetictapecartridges.Informationinterchangebetweensystemsalsorequires,ataminimum,agreementbetweentheinterchangepartiesupontheinterchangecode(s)andthespecificationsofthestructureandlabellingoftheinformationontheinterchangedcartridge.Underinformationinterchangecircumstancesinwhichaprocessingalgorithm,e.g.forlosslessdatacompressionasspecifiedinISO/IEC11558,isappliedtothehostdatapriortorecordingonthetapeandacomplementaryreprocessingalgorithmisappliedafterthedataisreadfromthetape,agreementuponthesebytheinterchangepartiesisalsorequired.
